Rectangular metal biscuit tin with rounded corners, made by ELKES Biscuits Ltd. of Cardiff, Great Britain. Dating from between 1920 and 1970, the tin features a loose-fitting lid with a rolled rim. It was manufactured with a folded side seam, and the lid has no visible seams.

Decoration & quotes:
The sides are printed in realistic brown woodgrain. Gilded oval frames feature famous quotes by Winston Churchill, including:

  • "We shall fight on the beaches..."

  • "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat."

  • "This was their finest hour."

  • "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."

The lid features a black-and-white photograph of Churchill. The inside of the lid includes the following English inscription:

"From a study by Karsh of Ottawa. Sir Winston Churchill is wearing the Knight of the Garter Sash, and around his neck is the blue and crimson ribbon with the Insignia of the Order of Merit."

Condition:
In original vintage condition with visible signs of age, including scratches, discolouration, and minor dents – all consistent with the age and nature of the item.
