Product description:
The Philips Infraphil KL7500 is a vintage infrared heat lamp produced between 1960 and 1965. This classic was designed for functional home use and is characterized by its pressed glass lamp with integrated Fresnel lens β at the time an innovation in heat treatment technology.
The lamp is made from cast aluminum, providing a solid and durable construction. The model weighs over one and a half kilos. It is secured in place with a metal clamp ring that fits neatly into a groove on the front.
The Philips logo is integrated into the handle, and a characteristic logo sticker is attached on top of the lamp housing. The model lacks a type number β typical for this version.
Historical context: Infraphil & Philips
The name Infraphil was registered by Philips in 1945 β a combination of infrared and Philips. In the following decades, dozens of heat lamp models were released, including this KL7500 as a base model in the 1960s and β70s.
According to some sources, this model was partly designed in the style of French designer Charlotte Perriand, known for her sober, functional designs with a human-centered vision.
Philips started in 1891 in Eindhoven as a manufacturer of carbon filament lamps and grew into a global brand, thanks in part to continuous innovation through the famous NatLab.
