  • Manufacturer: Tupperware Brand Corporation
  • Produced from: 1973 onward

Versatile microwave steamer and serving bowl in one

Product Description:
This vintage Tupperware steaming set – also known as the Multiserver or the "Serve Wonder" – was designed for practical everyday use. The set consists of three parts: an ivory-white outer bowl, a blue inner bowl with colander functionality, and a matching lid with a central knob. Together, they form a multifunctional tool for preparing, serving, and storing food.

Use and Functionality:
The Multiserver is primarily intended for steaming vegetables, rice, or pasta in the microwave. Thanks to its clever design, condensation is directed along the sides, keeping the food from becoming soggy. The tightly fitting lid helps retain flavor, aroma, and temperature. After cooking, the bowl can go straight to the table for serving.

Practical Features:

  • The inner bowl doubles as a colander, ideal for rinsing and draining salad greens or fruit.

  • Adding warm water to the outer bowl keeps food warm for longer – perfect for delayed meals.

  • Filling the outer bowl with crushed ice allows you to keep food chilled, such as desserts or soft fruits.

  • Small feet underneath the bowl promote air circulation and prevent condensation from forming on the table surface.

  • The handles ensure safe handling, even when the bowl is hot.

  • Also suitable for defrosting frozen foods or letting boiled potatoes continue cooking through residual heat.

Condition and Dimensions:
This steamer is in good vintage condition, with signs of use appropriate to its age, but no damage or discoloration. The photos provide a complete impression of its condition.

  • Height: 12.5 cm
  • Length and Width: 23 cm

About Tupperware:
Founded in 1944 by American chemist Earl Tupper, Tupperware has grown into a leading name in household plastic products. The company revolutionized food storage with the introduction of the airtight "Wonderbowl" in 1946. From 1948 onward, sales were primarily driven by the Tupperware Home Party: home demonstrations that showcased the advantages of the products directly to consumers.

The Multiserver is a perfect example of Tupperware’s tradition of thoughtful, durable, and multifunctional design – with an emphasis on user-friendliness, hygiene, and space-saving solutions. This set is not only a practical kitchen tool but also a fine example of functional vintage design.
