Rectangular oblong tin with separate lid for honey gingerbread. Made by VERKADE with pink, green and gold floral designs on the lid and bees and a hive on the side.

Description
Vintage tin with a rectangular shape and a separate lid. The lid has a psychedelic, flower power pattern. The tin itself is made with rolled edges and a flanged longitudinal seam. As decoration a white background with stylized flower and leaf motifs in pink, green and gold colors. The tin has a gold colored bottom and inside. Text on one of the sides at the bottom: Koninklijke Verkade fabrieken nv Zaandam - Holland.

Condition
This gingerbread tin made by Verkade is in a neat vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear.

Verkade. 
Verkade was founded on 2 May 1886. Then Ericus Gerhardus Verkade opened his steam, bread, and rusk factory "De Ruyter" (The Rider). The name "De Ruyter" was chosen with a bow to the past; the first flour mill of West Zaandam bore that name. The products of the first hour were; bread, rusks, honey gingerbread and Langetjes (a kind of biscuits), "De Ruyter" is still recognizable in the logo of the Verkade brand.
