Douwe Egberts, founded in 1753, is a Dutch company specializing in coffee, tea, and other food products. After several transitions, it became fully owned by the American company Sara Lee in 1978. Pickwick, a tea brand from Douwe Egberts, dates back to 1937. Before that, the company had been selling unbranded tea since 1753 from a store in the Midstraat in Joure.
