🎲 About the game
Each player starts with five pawns and tries to be the first to move one pawn onto the exact finish space at the top of the board. Along the way, barricades form strategic obstacles.
When a pawn lands exactly on a barricade, the barricade may be moved. This allows players to clear their own route or block an opponent’s path. Players can also capture opposing pawns, sending them back to their starting position.
🏭 Manufacturer & history
Barricade was developed by Werner Schöppner, who introduced his game concept to Ravensburger in the late 1950s. The game shares elements with traditional race games such as Pachisi, but stands out through its branching routes and, above all, its movable barricades.
Barricade went on to become a long-running title in the Ravensburger range.
