The tin is decorated on all sides with atmospheric English hunting scenes featuring riders, horses and hunting dogs. The lid depicts a horse-drawn stagecoach. An eye-catching early De Gruyter tin dating from approximately 1930–1950.

🛠 About This Product

The tin is decorated on all sides with various English hunting scenes featuring riders in red hunting coats, horses and a pack of hounds. The dark green borders are particularly richly decorated with ornamental lines and red-orange medallion-shaped details.

On the inside of the lid is the historic De Gruyter advertising slogan:

“En betere waren – En 10 procent – alleen bij de Gruyter”, accompanied by an image of a cup marked “Koffie Thee”.

🏭 Manufacturer & History

The rim of the lid is marked “VEREENIGDE BLIKFABR. AMSTERDAM”. Vereenigde Blikfabrieken, founded in 1912 and later known as Verblifa, was one of the major Dutch manufacturers of decorative packaging tins.
