This round tin with a removable lid was originally designed to package Brinta, a well-known Dutch breakfast cereal. The cheerful beach picnic scene includes a father, mother, son, daughter, and their dog—naturally accompanied by a box of Brinta. The blue background and yellow circle with three wheat stalks on the lid give the tin its recognizable vintage charm.
Brinta, short for Breakfast Instant Tarwe (Instant Wheat Breakfast), was first introduced in 1944. Developed by Frederik André Möller and produced by Scholten's Factories in Foxhol, Brinta has remained a household name in the Netherlands for decades—thanks in part to a famous advertising campaign in the 1960s that cemented its iconic status.
