🛠 About the product

The tall cylindrical tin has a removable slip-over lid and a clearly visible vertical folded seam at the back. A gold-coloured rim runs around the bottom. The colourful field bouquet of flowers and ears of wheat contrasts beautifully with the understated cream-coloured background.

Light wear and other signs of age are present from years of use. These are consistent with the age of the tin and can be seen in the photos, which form part of the description.

🏭 Manufacturer & history

ARK was established in 1920 as a bakery producing rusks and ontbijtkoek, a traditional Dutch spiced breakfast cake. In 1931, Gerrit Jan and Martinus Johan van Ark had a modern factory built on the Zwolseweg. Biscuits and cookies were added to the range from 1938 onwards. ARK products were distributed through bakers and grocers across various parts of the Netherlands. In 1975, the company was acquired by Bolletje.

The metal packaging was manufactured by Verblifa, a well-known Dutch producer of tin packaging.
