🛠 About the Product

This rectangular coffee tin immediately stands out for its attractive red background and finely detailed dotted decoration. The geometric patterns are inspired by traditional European folk art, with influences including decorative traditions associated with Hindeloopen, Finland and the former Yugoslavia.

The tin was offered by Douwe Egberts in the late 1960s in combination with D.E. Roodmerk coffee. The original promotional price was 2.75 Dutch guilders, including a 250-gram pack of coffee.

This particular tin was probably later used for storing coloured pencils, and the inside shows clear signs of such use. Please examine the product photographs carefully for details, as the photographs form part of the description.

🏭 Manufacturer & History

The history of Douwe Egberts dates back to 1753, when Egbert Douwes and Akke Thijsses opened a shop in Joure, the Netherlands. The company went on to become one of the best-known names in Dutch coffee and tea culture.

Douwe Egberts also produced and promoted numerous decorative storage and coffee tins over the years, many of which have since become popular collectors' items.
