🏇 About the Product
The lid features a dynamic horse racing scene with two jockeys riding a black and a white horse. The colourful illustration is enhanced by subtle blue and orange brushstroke-style accents.
The sides feature similar horse racing scenes in black and white. The interior and base have a silver-coloured finish. The underside is embossed with the original Van Melle – Rotterdam – Holland mark.
Over the years, the tin has acquired clear signs of age and use, including scratches, discolouration and surface wear. These are consistent with its age and contribute to its authentic vintage character.
🏭 Van Melle & History
The history of Van Melle began in the 19th century in Breskens, the Netherlands. Under the direction of Izaak van Melle, the family business developed from a bakery into a manufacturer of confectionery.
