🛠 About the product / Function
This biscuit tin is a charming example of Dutch nostalgia from the 1950s–1980s. The red snap-on lid with rolled edge closes securely and is practical for everyday use.
The front displays the famous Bolletje baker inside a red diamond-shaped triangle – a design by Marten Toonder, renowned for Ollie B. Bommel and Tom Poes.
A wavy beige band with a red line runs around the bottom, and the interior is finished in gold, giving the tin a warm and inviting look.
🏭 Manufacturer & history
Bolletje has a rich history dating back to 1867 in Almelo. By 1954, the family business had grown into an industrial bakery, and Bolletje became a national icon, boosted by clever advertising campaigns such as “Ik wil Bolletje!”. In 2013, the company was acquired by German firm Borggreve.
The tin was produced by Verblifa, a well-known Dutch tin manufacturer.
