🛠 About the product

This straight, cylindrical rusk tin features a slightly domed, loose-fitting lid with a rolled rim. The body shows a folded vertical seam at the back. The decoration consists of a yellow background with a lighter yellow diamond pattern, a green lower border, and six vertical floral garlands depicting nasturtiums in green, red and yellow. The lid is finished with a matching floral wreath.

The base is embossed with the original factory mark in relief:
KONINKLIJKE VERKADE FABRIEKEN N.V. ZAANDAM.

🏭 Manufacturer & history

Verkade was founded on 2 May 1886 by Ericus Gerhardus Verkade with his steam-powered bread and rusk factory “De Ruyter” in West Zaandam. The historic logo still refers to this origin. Over time, Verkade grew into an icon of Dutch biscuit, chocolate and rusk production, with its tin packaging becoming highly collectible in its own right.
