Lonka, originally known as London Caramel Works, was founded in 1920 in Breda, Netherlands. Ten years later, a second factory opened in Essen, Belgium. In 1930, the company was officially named London Caramel and Toffee Works Limited (Lonca), later simplified to Lonka. After the Breda factory closed in 1965, production moved entirely to Essen, focusing on caramel, toffee, and confectionery. Today, Lonka remains known for its sweet treats and nostalgic charm.
