About the manufacturer:
Patria was a well-known biscuit factory based in Amsterdam, producing cookies, crackers, and rusk. The company became particularly famous for its large embossed tins featuring the Rijksmuseum, which were a common sight in Dutch households during the 1950s. In 1978, Patria made national headlines when female workers occupied the factory for a week to protest its closure. Despite their efforts, the factory shut down and the building was demolished in 1981.

Why it’s special:
This tin is not only a practical storage item but also a nostalgic piece of Dutch design history. A great addition to any vintage interior, collection, or as a unique gift for fans of the Zaanse Schans or traditional Dutch scenes.
